Khuvsgul Lake Tour (Flight) On the furthest north of the country, there are famous travel destinations from Khuvsgul province. Lake Khuvsgul is Mongolia’s biggest pristine fresh water lake and it is the sister lake to Baikal across the border in Siberia. The region is known as the Switzerland of Mongolia with high, ice-capped mountains, beautiful lakes and vast forests of pine and fir.

On the opposite side of KhoridolSaridag mountains, is the ‘Darkhad valley’. Travelling in the Darkhad valley to the Tsaatsan (reindeer herders) community on the north end of the valley will be an unforgettable experience. As to the nomadic part, you’ll see Darkhad’s famous white horses and yaks and the Tsaatan’s reindeer herds. Be sure to ride reindeer while visiting Tsaatsans.

Because the area is full of high mountains, forests, rivers and lakes, it is an adventure travelers’ heaven.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival day in Ulaanbaatar city

After arrival in Ub city, we will pick you up from Airport or train station. Check in Hotel 4****, then visit Zaisan memorial hill, also we have a time to exchange money and some shopping if you want. Free time in the evening.
Overnight 4**** Hotel. (Lunch)

Day 2

Khuvsgul Lake

Transfer to the airport for the Murun flight. Upon arrival in Murun, we drive to Uushgiin Uvur deer stones that date back to The Bronze Age and considered the best kept and the clearest carving stones among other 600 deer stones of central Asia. The journey continues to Khuvsgul lake, the second largest and freshest water lake in the world fed by over 100 fresh mountain streams of the remote Taiga. The lake is elevated 1650 m above sea level, 38 km wide and 138 km long. You have a opportunity to hiking near the lake and forest for taking photos of Khuvsgul lake area. Overnight in tourist Ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 3

Horse Trip - Hiking

Horse trip near the Khuvsgul Lake. We will visit a reindeer family and have 2-3 hours horseback riding along the lake’s shore and through open valleys of the mountains. You may choose the path to a higher elevated area to see the lake and its beautiful surrounding from up. Overnight in tourist Ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 4

Boat trip to Khadan Khuis

After breakfast, we will boat to Khadan Khuis, one of four lands of Khuvsgul Lake. Enjoying and relaxing ashore the lake.

Day 5

Fly back to UB

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar, after arrive we will have a city sightseeing tour. First, visit Gandantegchilen monastery, followed by a visit to the Central Square and the National Museum of Mongolia. In the evening, attend traditional cultural performance which is one of the most interesting and must see things in Ulaanbaatar with its play of horse headed fiddle, throat singing, contortion, colorful dance and much more. Check-in 4 star hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 6

Departure from Ulaanbaatar

As your memorable trip comes to end, we will drop you off Airport or train station. Have a nice flight to your next destination. (Breakfast)
