Khuvsgul Lake by Land Tour Mongolia’s North and Central highlights the most -visited regions of the country Like Khuvsgul, the Orkhon Valley and the South Gobi. You may have time to visit one or two of the areas mentioned-all three, if you stay three weeks. Lake Kuvsgul is the famous blue in northern Mongolia bordering Siberia, near  many great fishing rivers. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and we will offers good accommodation and many activities like riding, hiking and climbing. Also travel to Amarbayasgalant monastery. Amarbayasgalant is one of the four great monasteries of Mongolia and the most important northern monastery. It is one the largest monasteries, too, and it also considered architecturally the most beautiful. Unfortunately, some buildings were damaged during the religious purges of the 1930s and 10 of the 37 temples were destroyed. Restoration work was completed recently with the help of UNESCO.

Itinerary

Pick up from the Airport, check-in Hotel (D)

We will arrive in Ger camp located near Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wild life observation. Its ridge of the crater is one of many examples of circles that arise in nature resembled a nice creature of a craftsman. Uran's highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields, this area is pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul. (B+L+D)

Drive to Khuvsgul lake which is known as the Switzerland of Mongolia and second the clearest lake in Central Asia. The lake is elevated 1650 m above sea level, 38 km wide and 138 km long. Arrive at the lake late afternoon. Enjoy nature and relax after long driving or have some optional activities of hiking, bird watching, climb a mountain, flower watching etc. Overnight in tourist Ger camp. (B+L+D). Khovsgol province is home to the southernmost indigenous reindeer herding people (Tsaatan) in the world. In the morning, we will saddle our horses and ride to meet a reindeer herder family. Depending on your experience, an appropriate horse will be selected for you.
We will meet reindeer herders and explore their life style, custom and sacraments. Reindeer herders practice shamanism and live in teepees.There is great opportunity to hiking, kayaking or just enjoy at wild nature to take photos. Also, you can ride motor-boat around the lake. B+L=D.

Drive to nomad family near Rashaant village. Mongolian traditional BBQ for dinner. Overnight in guest Ger. (B+L+D)

Drive to Kharakhorum ancient city of Mongolian Great Empire which was formerly a great capital city built by Ogoodei Khan(Chinggis Khan's successor and third son) in 1235. Visit to oldest Buddhist monastery Erdenezuu and you will see modern style historical museum. Overnight in Tourist Ger Camp B+L+D

Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city, visit cashmere & souvenir shop. In the evening, we will visit “Wonders of Mongolia” folklore show by famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble - is one of the most successful folk art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries. After farewell dinner, transfer to the hotel. (B+L+D). You sightseeing on own until flight, visit Zaisan monument, Sukhbaatar main square, and State Department Store. Escort to the Airport, 2 hours prior to flight. (B)
